DHS will host a College and Career Night on January 29th with the doors opening at 6:00.  This wll be a good time for Juniors and Seniors to gather information from different colleges.  Please make plans to attend.

741 students were registered at the Annual BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICA (BPA) Regional Leadership Conference Saturday, January 17 at Heritage High School in Frisco, TX.  Twenty-four MEMBERS OF BPA from Daingerfield High School participated in various office/business individual and team events. Anyone SERIOUSLY interested in playing tennis this spring may sign up in the high school office.  YOU MUST BE PASSING ALL YOUR CLASSES AND YOU MUST HAVE ALL YOUR PAPERWORK TURNED IN, including a current UIL sports physical on file with Coach Reed,  BEFORE you will be allowed to participate in ANY team practices or matches.  You need to see Coach Reed for all paperwork.  If you have already participated in a UIL sport this school year, you should be fine. You may start practicing on your own at any time.  Our first team practice will not be until sometime in February. 

The Floral Design department will be selling Valentines starting next week! They will have flowers and candy options for your sweetheart!

DHS Chess Club – will meet on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 a.m. or 3:30-4:30 p.m. in room 23.  Players of all levels and ages are welcome.

Teacher of the Month

Lisa Campbell

Ms. Campbell has been teaching for 16 years, the past 13 of which have been as a Social Studies teacher at Daingerfield High School. A self-avowed book/history nerd, Lisa loves to read in her spare time. When not reading she enjoys visiting with her family and doing various craft work. Ms. Campbell is one of the few teachers across the state that can brag about getting 100% of her students to pass a state assessment. Congratulations, Ms. Campbell!

Terah is a senior at Daingerfield High School. Currently ranked second in her class, Terah also finds time for extra-curricular activities. She has been a cheerleader for four years, and is a member of several student organizations including National Honor Society, Student Council, Spanish Club, Drama Club, and for three years has been a cast member of the One-Act-Play. After graduating from high school, Terah plans on attending college where she will pursue a medical degree with the hope of one day becoming a pediatrician. Congratulations, Terah Blythe!

Mrs. Teddleton, our NTCC representative, will not be back on campus until Jan. 12th.  The next TSI test will be offered on January 26th.  You can sign up in the Counselor’s office.  This test can also be taken on the NTCC campus at any time for the same price.

SENIORS###A LOT OF COLLEGES HAVE THEIR REGISTRATION DEADLINES SET FOR DEC# OR JANUARY#  MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE DEADLINE FOR THE COLLEGE YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AND GET ANY TESTING AND PAPERWORK DONE BY THAT DATE#  IF YOU NEED ANY HELP SEE MRS# TEDDLETON IN THE LIBRARY ON MONDAYS OR COME TO THE COUNSELOR’S OFFICE#  ALSO, CHECK OUT COUNSELOR’S CORNER ON THE HIGH SCHOOL WEBSITE FOR ANY NEW SCHOLARSHIPS.
