   The DHS Class of 2015 will graduate on Friday, May 29 at 8:00pm in the Jesse Hanson Gym.  Seats will be first come first serve and saving seats will not be allowed.

Teacher of the Month

George Steenborg

Mr. Steenborg teaches chemistry at Daingerfield High School, and has a composite science certification which qualifies him to teach multiple high school science classes.  Mr. Steenborg graduated from Henderson State University with a degree in Biology, and has been proudly teaching at Daingerfield High School for eight years.  Mr. Steenborg has a wealth of real world job experience that he applies in his classes, from water purification and energy production at the paper mill to metallurgy at an aluminum mill.  Mr. Steenborg focuses on academic achievement, because, “Our mission at DHS is preparing graduated students to either enter college or the work force.” Congratulations Mr. Steenborg.
Student of the Month

Sabryn Thompson



Sabryn Thompson, DHS Student of the Month, is a very active junior. She is currently the Vice president of the Daingerfield FFA, and is a student athletic trainer. Sabryn is also an active member of Student Council, National Honor Society, and Spanish Club. Upon graduation Sabryn plans to attend Texas A&M University – College Station to pursue a medical degree in hopes of becoming a Pediatric Physical Therapist. Congratulation Ms. Thompson.
Congratulations to the Daingerfield Tiger Band for a great Season.  They received all One's (Superior ratings) at the UIL marching contest in the Fall.  They also received all One's (Superior ratings) in the Sight Reading contest and 2 Two's (Excellent rating) and 1 One (Superior rating) at the UIL Concert and Sight Reading contest this past week in New Boston.   They have proven time and again that hard work and determination pay off.  Way to go Tigers!!


The TSI test will not be given on our campus anymore this year.  If you are needing to take it for Dual Credit classes you will have to go to the NTCC campus.  The cost will still be $6 per test.  The NTCC Testing Center summer hours are as follows:  Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Fridays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  Come by the Counselor’s office for more information.
